It was a huge project with tons of work by lots of people, but we were able to cover 760 square feet of yellow metal on the Sun Target sculpture at the Springfield Art Museum with yarn! Thank you, everyone who participated!
Here’s some photos, and I wrote a more complete Artist Statement that explains the project, how it was done, and what it means — to me and many others it seems, as I continue to get feedback from people who worked on the project and those who experience it.
Pretty darn impressive! Fabulous colors and structure! You go, girls!
Thanks Judith!
wow it’s awesome. Such great creativity. Looks like great fun to be a part of it
Thanks Betty. It was a really great experience to have so many people involved!
Holy Guacamole! I’d give anything to see that in person!
Hi Linda – It was pretty impressive!
There was a big fundraiser to do the CAM yarnbomb on Hatchfund or one of the fiscal sponsor sites! They raised $5000 for their project I think
Hi Kim, I wish we had had more time to do the project. Because of a small window of time regarding the last good weather days of autumn, and the potential repainting of the sculpture in the Spring, we agreed to this project with only about two month, including planning. That’s not much time for a project this big!
