August 7 – October 14, 2012
2nd International TECHstyle Art Biennial (ITAB)

International TECHstyle Art Biennial (ITAB) is an exhibition of contemporary artists who are merging fiber media with new information and communication technologies in their artistic processes: as a medium of artistic expression and/or in the content of their work. Jurors Janet Koplos, Barbara Layne, and Christine Tarkowski selected work that showcases the myriad possibilities of textile and technology and explores this provocative new direction in artistic evolution. Work includes digitally printed fabrics and quilts, digital jacquard weaving, digital imaging, inkjet printing, laser engraving, 3D software, heat-press lamination, and fabrication using new man made-materials and recycled elements from the wellspring of waste from the computer industry. Emerging artists and well-established practitioners are a part of this 2nd ITAB Biennial that connects with the larger ZERO1 exhibitions and festival.
