In the middle of the warehouse is a long 16' by 72' room. The ceiling is lined with two rows of eight-foot light fixtures, so it's very bright. Over the past four years, I've slowly turned this room into my fiber studio.

This half of the room is carpeted for sewing and clean work. I left the other half with a tile floor for dyeing and painting.

In the center of the room is a big soft design table I made using foam and a hollow-core door sitting on top of a rolling palette. On the right you can see some work in progress on the design wall.

There are good and bad things about working in the warehouse. The worst is it's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. There are no windows which on a nice day I regret, but on dreary rainy days, I walk in and it feels like someone just turned on the sunshine with all the light and color bouncing off the walls.
