Sundays meant flea market day to the Grosses. We lived in "Hippie Land" and one could never know what one would find in amongst those vendors. It was best to go early to get the best finds.

And there it was! This astounding hard-to-describe quilt draped over the engine of an old truck! It is made of a heavy decorator fabric with a blanket for batting: the pinwheels and the border were a black ribbed fabric.

The back fabric was brought over to the front for a 1" binding, and it was tied with small white wool knots -- hardly noticeable.
